Hack Away or not?

Imagine, you have an infant son and now you've got a serious question you have to deal with.

Circumcision or not?

On the one hand, you know that it'll protect him from a number of diseases and cancers. So that's a good thing.

On the other, you know that it will lead to a decreased sensitivity of the glans, something he might not thank you for in later life. Some people seem to think that this decrease will lead to lower sexual pleasure.

Well, yes, except that such a decrease will in fact lead to sex taking longer. This is normally though of as an increase in pleasure and happiness, not a decrease.

So it could be that the major argument used against circumcision is in fact one in its favour.

If such diseases were a problem, natural selection would have bread the problem, i.e. the foreskin, out of the population millenia ago. The penis, being a key component of reproduction, would be at the forefront of natural selection!
